The Afghanistan War has been going on for 18 years now. There are men signing up for the military who weren’t even born when the war began, so naturally, there have been a ton of stories to come out of the conflict. One of them is the intense new war film The Kill Team, which has just dropped its first trailer.
The Kill Team is an adaptation of the 2013 documentary of the same name about the Maywand District Murders. The film tells the story of a young American soldier (Nat Wolff) who is coerced into murdering civilians by his commanding officer (Alexander Skarsgård). In the fallout from the real case, five U.S. soldiers were charged with the murder of Afghan civilians, with seven others being charged with covering up the crime, according to JoBlo.com. The movie comes from A24, the studio behind such disturbing and mind-bending films as The Witch, Hereditary, and Midsommar, so you know this one isn’t going to skimp on the intense and uncomfortable scenes. And the trailer seems to back up that prediction, as the movie looks like an incredibly tense ride.
The Kill Team is set to hit theaters on Oct. 25, so start preparing yourself now for what’s sure to be one of the year’s most adrenaline-pumping watches.
