When it becomes clear that a vicious motorcycle gang, led by the sadistic Blade (William Smith), now rules the area, Buck fights back, but his defiance makes his family a target. After things take a violent turn for the worse, Buck recruits his old Vietnam-vet buddy J.B. Deveraux (Yaphet Kotto) to do what the local cops won't do, and stop Blade's reign of terror.

The international team includes Sam (Robert De Niro), an ex-intelligence officer, along with Vincent (Jean Reno), Gregor (Stellan Skarsgard) and others. As their operation gets underway, several team members are found to be untrustworthy, and everyone must complete the mission with a watchful eye on everyone else.

When the suspicious dean (Paxton Whitehead) finds out, Thornton needs to show he can get by on his own.

Among the prisoners determined to escape are American Captain Virgil Hilts (Steve McQueen) and British Squadron Leader Roger Bartlett (Richard Attenborough). Outwitting their captors by digging a tunnel out of the prison grounds, the soldiers find the stakes much higher when escape becomes a reality.

Joe Clemons (Gregory Peck), are forced to assault entrenched Chinese troops. The site of battle is Pork Chop Hill, a daunting, desolate climb that gives the communist forces a clear advantage. Clash after deadly clash wears down the morale and readiness of Clemons' men, and when they ask for back up, command is neither willing to send reinforcements nor authorize a retreat.
