Travis (Laurence Harvey), joined by Colonels Jim Bowie (Richard Widmark) and Davy Crockett (John Wayne), to lead a small, heroic band of American and Texican fighters in a resistance battle at the Alamo mission. The carnage at the Alamo further spurs the Republic of Texas toward freedom.

Bannock's marshal, a righteous man named Jered Maddox (Burt Lancaster), comes to the larger town of Sabbath bearing the dead body of one of the revelers and demands the surrender of the remaining five from sheriff Cotton Ryan (Robert Ryan) and ranch owner Vincent Bronson (Lee J. Cobb), starting a confrontation that threatens to engulf them all.

Sinclair enlists a number of his air-show buddies to join the mission, and they depart for Peru to take on the ruthless criminal.

Desperate to instill discipline, Chappy hires as an instructor his former protégé, Doug Masters (Jason Cadieux), who had previously been shot down by the Soviets. During training, Doug and the youths encounter drug dealers, toxic chemicals and an insidious conspiracy that threatens to ignite a global war.

But Robles, a Mexican, seethes over the town's racism, and is warned by kindly nurse Estella (Katy Jurado) that without his gun, he would not last very long. That theory is put to the test when the new sheriff injures his wrist fighting with Ed Bannister (Peter Whitney), who upon learning about it, challenges Robles to a duel.
